Description
Common Name: Dieffenbachia Tropic Marianne
Scientific Name: Dieffenbachia ‘Tropic Marianne’
Light:
Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Can tolerate lower light conditions, but growth may slow and leaf coloration may become less vibrant. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor environments. Higher humidity encourages fuller, healthier foliage.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining potting mix (standard indoor mix amended with perlite or coco coir). Proper drainage is essential.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during winter.
Pruning:
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Can be pruned to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth.
Toxicity:
Highly toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Sap may also cause skin irritation. Handle with care and keep out of reach of children and animals.
