Description
Common Name: Philodendron White Princess
Scientific Name: Philodendron erubescens ‘White Princess’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong white variegation. Can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow and variegation may become less pronounced. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.
Water:
Allow the top 3–5 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow excess to drain completely. Sensitive to overwatering, so avoid consistently wet soil.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity supports healthier growth and better variegation stability, but it adapts to normal indoor conditions.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir or peat. Good aeration is essential for healthy root development.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any fully reverted green leaves if they appear.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
