Description
Common Name: Syngonium Maria Bronze
Scientific Name: Syngonium podophyllum ‘Maria Bronze’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong bronze and pink-toned foliage. Can tolerate medium light, but colour intensity may fade and growth may slow. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure good drainage, as Syngoniums are sensitive to overwatering and root rot.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions. Higher humidity promotes larger leaves and more vibrant colouring.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix containing peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark. Good aeration supports strong root health.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Prune regularly to encourage bushier growth and prevent legginess. Cuttings root easily in water or soil for propagation.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
