Description
Common Name: Syngonium Mojito
Scientific Name: Syngonium podophyllum ‘Mojito’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its distinctive marbled green variegation. Can tolerate medium light, but patterns may become less pronounced and growth slower. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot, as Syngoniums are sensitive to overwatering.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor humidity. Higher humidity supports larger leaves and more dramatic variegation.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark. Aerated soil promotes healthy root development.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Prune regularly to encourage bushier, fuller growth. Cuttings root easily in water or soil for propagation.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
