Description
Common Name: Syngonium Panda Galaxy
Scientific Name: Syngonium podophyllum ‘Panda Galaxy’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation and contrast. Can tolerate medium light, but leaf patterning may become less defined and growth may slow. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves and fade variegation.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Ensure good drainage, as Syngoniums are prone to root rot if overwatered.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions. Higher humidity supports healthier growth and more vibrant foliage patterns.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark. Aeration is key for strong root development.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during winter.
Pruning:
Prune regularly to encourage bushy, compact growth. Cuttings root easily in water or soil for propagation.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
