Description
Common Name: Syngonium Wendlandii
Scientific Name: Syngonium wendlandii
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong leaf colour and silvery central markings. Can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow and markings may become less defined. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure good drainage, as Syngoniums are sensitive to overwatering and root rot.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity promotes larger leaves and more pronounced velvety texture.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix containing peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark. Good aeration supports healthy root development.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Prune to encourage bushier growth and remove leggy stems. Cuttings can be propagated easily in water or soil.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
