Description
Common Name: Aglaonema Silver Queen
Scientific Name: Aglaonema ‘Silver Queen’
Light:
Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Tolerates lower light conditions, but brighter light will enhance its silvery variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil slightly moist but not soggy. Aglaonemas are relatively forgiving but should not sit in waterlogged soil.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions. Increase humidity in very dry environments to prevent leaf browning.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–27°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining potting mix (standard indoor mix with added perlite). This ensures proper drainage while retaining some moisture.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during winter.
Pruning:
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves to maintain appearance. Can be cut back if it becomes leggy to encourage bushier growth.
Toxicity:
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
