Description

Common Name: Begonia Breverimosa
Scientific Name: Begonia brevirimosa

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves and fade their vibrant pink variegation. Too little light may reduce colour intensity.

Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil lightly moist but not soggy. Ensure good drainage, as this Begonia is sensitive to overwatering and root rot.

Humidity:
Thrives in high humidity. Use a humidity tray or humidifier to maintain consistent moisture in the air. Avoid misting directly onto leaves to prevent spotting.

Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix (peat-based with perlite or coco peat). This helps retain moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely.

Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during winter.

Pruning:
Remove damaged or dying leaves regularly to maintain appearance and encourage new growth. Trim leggy growth to keep a compact shape.

Toxicity:
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
