Description

Common Name: Begonia Looking Glass
Scientific Name: Begonia ‘Looking Glass’

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and reduce their metallic sheen. Too little light may cause slower growth and less vibrant foliage.

Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure excellent drainage, as Begonias are prone to root rot if overwatered.

Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Use a humidifier or humidity tray to maintain stable conditions. Avoid misting directly onto leaves, as this can lead to spotting and fungal issues.

Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix (peat-based with perlite or coco coir). The soil should retain light moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely.

Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during winter.

Pruning:
Remove damaged or dying leaves regularly to maintain appearance and encourage new growth. Pinch back leggy growth to keep the plant compact and full.

Toxicity:
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
