Description
Common Name: Dieffenbachia Memoria Corsii
Scientific Name: Dieffenbachia ‘Memoria Corsii’
Light:
Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Can tolerate lower light conditions, but growth may slow and variegation may become less defined. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure proper drainage, as Dieffenbachia are prone to root rot if overwatered.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to normal indoor conditions. Higher humidity encourages healthier, more vigorous growth.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining potting mix (standard indoor mix amended with perlite or coco coir). Good aeration is important for root health.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding during winter.
Pruning:
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. Can be trimmed to control height and encourage a fuller, bushier plant.
Toxicity:
Highly toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Sap may also cause skin irritation. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
