Description
Common Name: Dischidia oiantha ‘White Diamond’
Scientific Name: Dischidia oiantha ‘White Diamond’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light, but stronger light enhances variegation and compact growth. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate foliage.
Water:
Allow the growing medium to dry out slightly between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain completely. Avoid overwatering, as Dischidia are highly susceptible to root rot.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Performs best in humid environments but can adapt to average indoor conditions if not overwatered.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a very well-draining, airy mix such as orchid bark, perlite, and a small amount of potting soil or coco coir. Excellent aeration is essential.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Minimal pruning required. Trim trailing stems only to manage length or encourage fuller growth.
Toxicity:
Generally considered non-toxic, but ingestion should still be avoided. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
