Description
Common Name: Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver Splash
Scientific Name: Hoya pubicalyx ‘Pink Silver Splash’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some gentle direct morning sun, which may enhance growth and flowering. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch leaves.
Water:
Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away completely. Hoyas are drought-tolerant and highly sensitive to overwatering.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions. Higher humidity encourages faster growth and more frequent flowering.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a very well-draining, airy mix such as orchid bark, perlite, and a small amount of potting soil or coco coir. Excellent drainage and airflow are essential.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. A bloom-supporting fertilizer can be used occasionally during active growth.
Pruning:
Minimal pruning required. Trim vines to control length or encourage a fuller growth habit.
Toxicity:
Mildly toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
