Description
Common Name: Monstera Siltepecana
Scientific Name: Monstera siltepecana
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light, but growth will slow and leaf size may remain smaller. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves and fade markings.
Water:
Allow the top 2–4 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then ensure excess drains away. Sensitive to overwatering, so avoid soggy soil conditions.
Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity encourages larger leaves and more pronounced fenestration in mature growth.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir or peat-based soil. Good aeration is essential for healthy root development.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter when growth slows.
Pruning:
Trim vines to control length or encourage bushier growth. Removing leggy growth helps maintain a compact appearance.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
