Description

Common Name: Philodendron Prince of Orange
Scientific Name: Philodendron ‘Prince of Orange’

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light, but growth may be slower and leaf colour less vibrant. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.

Water:
Allow the top 3–5 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain completely. Sensitive to overwatering, so avoid constantly wet soil.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions. Higher humidity supports larger and healthier foliage.

Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir or peat-based soil. Good aeration is essential for root health.

Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.

Pruning:
Remove old or damaged leaves as needed. Minimal pruning required as it maintains a self-heading (upright) growth habit.

Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
