Description
Common Name: Syngonium Ghost
Scientific Name: Syngonium podophyllum ‘Ghost’
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its pale, almost white foliage and strong variegation. Can tolerate medium light, but leaves may become greener and less “ghostly.” Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch delicate leaves.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Ensure excellent drainage, as Syngoniums are prone to root rot if overwatered.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity supports healthier growth and helps maintain larger, more defined leaves.
Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark. Aerated soil is essential for strong root development.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.
Pruning:
Prune regularly to encourage bushier growth and prevent legginess. Cuttings root easily in water or soil for propagation.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
