Description

Scientific Name: Syngonium podophyllum ‘White Butterfly’

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain clean white and green variegation. Can tolerate medium light, but leaves may become more green and less variegated. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch foliage.

Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure good drainage, as Syngoniums are sensitive to overwatering and root rot.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor humidity. Higher humidity encourages larger leaves and stronger variegation.

Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with peat or coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark. Aerated soil is important for healthy root growth.

Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter.

Pruning:
Prune regularly to encourage bushier growth and maintain a compact shape. Cuttings root easily in water or soil for propagation.

Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested to pets and humans. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
